Earning and time figures are our broad estimates, not guarantees — actual results depend on your area, your effort and demand.

Why it's left-field

You are selling genetic agricultural history out of tiny paper envelopes, bypassing massive corporate seed brands.

How it works

  1. 1Grow non-hybrid, rare vegetable varieties (like unusual tomatoes or peppers).
  2. 2Let them mature, carefully harvest the seeds, dry them thoroughly, and package them into branded paper packets for home gardeners.
  3. 3Check the rules before you sell. In the UK, selling vegetable seed needs a seed marketing licence from APHA and a variety on the official variety lists, which rules out most home-saved seed. In the US, packets need a germination test result on the label and most states require a seed permit.
