What “curated” means
Every listing on this directory was written and checked by a person — nothing is scraped, auto-generated or paid for placement. They fall into two honest categories:
Platform-backed opportunities
Listings built around a real, named service we link to directly — the app or platform exists, sign-up is free, and the work is what the platform itself describes. These are the most reliable to act on today.
Independent trade ideas
Ideas someone with the right skill, equipment or certificate can offer locally — window cleaning for the housebound, small repairs, pet transport. We check that the idea is legal, realistic and genuinely in demand, but there is no platform behind it: what you earn depends on you finding the customers.
What we check before a listing goes live
- No pay-to-work. If a listing ever asks you to pay for the privilege of working, it doesn't belong here. Paid courses and optional toolkits are always clearly separate and never required.
- A real trail. For platform listings, we check the platform actually operates the described work and links to it directly.
- Realistic numbers. Startup costs, locations and difficulty are kept conservative — if we're not sure, we round up the cost and down the ease.
- Broad labels only. The earning potential and time estimates on each listing are deliberately vague — 'occasional pocket money', 'a few hours a week' and similar — because real results vary too much to promise more. They are our honest working estimates, never a forecast.
- Legal and safe. Nothing on the site asks you to break a platform's terms, work unlicensed where a licence is required, or put yourself at risk. The Safety Hub covers the rest.
- Written for humans. Every blueprint is proofread and written in plain British English.
What we can’t guarantee
Availability changes. Platforms close, pause sign-ups, or change their rules and pay rates without telling us. A listing that was accurate last month may have shifted today.
Earnings always vary. Any figures are honest illustrations, not promises. What you earn depends on your area, your effort and your timing.
This isn’t financial advice. Treat every blueprint as a well-researched starting point for your own research, never a guarantee.
Keeping listings up to date
The directory is checked and tidied regularly, but with hundreds of listings we won’t catch everything the moment it changes — and we’d rather be honest about that than pretend otherwise. That’s why every blueprint has a “Report a problem” link. When a report comes in, a person reads it, checks it, and either updates or removes the listing.

About paid links, plainly
A small number of cards contain affiliate or referral links. When they do, the card says so right next to the link — always. Commissions never influence what gets listed: a platform pays us nothing to appear here, and most listings have no commercial link at all. Free blueprints stay free, and no listing will ever ask you to pay to work.
Spotted a problem?
Open any blueprint on the directory and use the “Report a problem” link at the bottom. It takes thirty seconds, no account needed, and every report is read.
